Nice Pyramid Planter Design

My friend, James, sent me link for this attractive and useful pyramid planter. What you buy from the creator, Chesapeakecrafts, are actually the downloadable plans for a 6' or 3' version. They advertise them as perfect for strawberries, but I think they'd work as well for flowers or herbs.

I'm seriously considering these plans or something like them for the front of my house. They look simple and cheap to build, easy to access, and they'll add height and structure, in the design sense.

One thing I worry about is watering. Yes, you can water with a watering can or a hose, but I'd prefer some kind of drip system that goes to the roots. Getting the leaves wet regularly can lead to mold and other plant infections.

Maybe I could run a largish, perforated PVC pipe through the center. Then, I could fill up the pipe from the top and let the water seep into the soil. But near the bottom, where it's wider, the water might not make it to the outside. ... Maybe a branching system? I'll have to think on it.

Nice plans, though!
